"Live at Region 9" Seminar + Webinar Series

The University of Arizona Superfund Research Program (UA SRP), in collaboration with Mike Gill, US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) Region 9 Superfund and Technology Liaison, hosts an annual seminar/webinar series designed to align UA SRP scientific strengths with the research needs of US EPA Remedial Project Mangers in the Pacific Southwest (US EPA Region 9).

Since 2007, this long-running and popular series has brought SRP research products to EPA Remedial Project Managers through an initial presentation as a “Live at 9” seminar at Region 9 headquarters in San Francisco, followed by a reprisal as an international webinar sponsored by the National Institutes of Environmental Health Sciences and broadcast via the US EPA Contaminated Site Clean-Up Information (CLU-IN) website. More than 2500 viewers have participated in the webinar series.

Since 2011, presentations have been designed to feature two researchers who present two facets of a common issue. Several iterations of the series have also included partnerships with other Region 9 University SRPs, allowing us to better leverage our research translation efforts and promote mutually beneficial communication and collaboration.
